A Family Session Worth the Drive: Celebrating Love, Heritage, and Togetherness
Every so often, I’m reminded just how meaningful this job really is and this beautiful family session was one of those moments.
A Native American family reached out to me about a month ago to book their family photo session. Not only did they lock it in early, but they drove over an hour from out of town just to work with me here in Albuquerque. That kind of trust means everything.
It was mom, dad, and their four amazing boys all decked out in perfectly coordinated outfits that made the photos pop with personality and connection. From the moment we started shooting, the energy was high, the laughter was real, and every frame we captured felt honest and alive.
And just when I thought the day couldn’t get more special, mom and dad let me know they’d also love to take a few portraits to celebrate their 10-year wedding anniversary. The love between them was so evident, and those shots turned out to be some of my favorites. It was a beautiful reminder that family portraits aren’t just about the kids growing up but about the foundation that brought it all together.
Sessions like these are what I live for. The joy, the chaos, the connection. And for this family to make the journey to shoot with me, it’s something I’ll never take lightly.
