A Senior Session a Year in the Making: Celebrating a Cibola High School Graduate 🎓
Some moments in life are worth planning ahead for, and this senior session was one of them. A whole year before she stepped into her final year of high school, this Cibola graduate found my website and reached out, letting me know she wanted to book her senior session. That level of excitement and trust in my work meant the world to me, and after a year of anticipation, the moment finally arrived to capture her milestone.
We met at Cibola High School on a quiet spring break afternoon, with the entire campus empty, creating the perfect backdrop for an uninterrupted session. While she had never done a professional photoshoot before—aside from the usual APS yearbook pictures—any nerves she had quickly faded as we got started. From the very first shot, it was clear we were going to have a blast. It didn’t take long for her to feel comfortable, and before we knew it, she was effortlessly striking poses with barely any direction from me.
Her mom mentioned that she has the most beautiful smile but tends to keep it hidden. Challenge accepted. I never force smiles or try to "trick" my clients into them. Instead, I create a relaxed, fun atmosphere where their personalities shine through naturally. By taking the time to connect with her, making her laugh, and letting her enjoy the moment, she found her full smile on her own—and it was absolutely stunning.
This session wasn’t just about taking senior photos; it was about capturing a young woman stepping confidently into her future. If you have a high school senior who feels a little awkward in front of the camera, trust that I have your back. Your session will be filled with genuine moments, confidence-building energy, and photos that truly represent this exciting chapter of life.
