When the Weather Has Other Plans: A Stunning Family Photo Session in Albuquerque

Sometimes, nature decides to test our plans. This recent Albuquerque family photography session was originally set to take place outdoors in the beautiful Bosque, but the infamous Albuquerque winds had other ideas. Thankfully, being a full-time photographer gives me the flexibility to adapt, and with a little quick thinking, we pivoted to a studio session at Lighthouse Studio—a move that turned out to be perfect in every way.

A Change in Plans, A Perfect Outcome

This session was booked two months in advance by a wonderful mom who wanted timeless family portraits with her two kids. While we originally envisioned a natural, outdoor backdrop, shifting to a studio allowed us to create something just as magical—if not better. With controlled lighting, a comfortable environment, and zero weather interruptions, the session flowed effortlessly, and we captured an incredible mix of posed and candid moments.
