A Graduation Session to Remember – Talia’s UNM Medical School Celebration
Talia celebrating her big day after years of hard work!
Graduation is more than a personal milestone—it’s a moment that belongs to family, to tradition, and to every person who helped along the way. When Talia reached out for her UNM graduation session, she made it clear that this was about more than just her. She wanted to honor her roots, her personality, and the people who have supported her through years of hard work.
Tradition Meets Triumph
Talia’s journey through medical school was no easy feat, and to celebrate, she chose to incorporate traditional Native American garments into her session. Seeing her draped in cultural elegance alongside her UNM cap and gown was something truly special. It was a beautiful fusion of past and present—a representation of where she comes from and where she’s going.
More Than Just a Cap and Gown
What made this session even more unique was Talia’s personal touch. She brought her scrubs, a simple but powerful statement of the work she’s dedicated her life to. And then there were her Nikes—bold, stylish, and the perfect representation of her love for sneakers. The red accents on her shoes effortlessly complemented the signature UNM cherry red, tying everything together in a way that felt completely natural.
A Family Moment Worth Capturing
Talia didn’t do this session alone. Her parents were right there with her, making this not just a graduation shoot but a true family celebration. Her father flew in all the way from California, just to be there for this moment. It was impossible not to feel the warmth and love that radiated from this family. Between poses, I captured candid moments—smiles, proud glances, even a few tears. These were the photos that would mean the most years from now.
The Confetti That Never Was
To add a little extra fun to her session, Talia brought along a confetti popper, hoping for an epic moment with colorful pieces flying above her in spectacular fashion. Well… let’s just say reality had other plans. The first popper was a dud. No explosion, no confetti shower. Just silence. But Talia wasn’t giving up that easily. Her sweet mother stepped in to help with the second one, ready to make some magic happen. And then—plop. The confetti barely made it off the ground.
But honestly? It didn’t matter. Because what we got instead was even better—beautiful, candid shots of Talia and her mom bursting into laughter at the hilariously failed attempt. It was one of those moments where you realize that sometimes, the unplanned shots are the most priceless ones.
